Job Description

  • Define and maintain the IT technical architecture of systems and application used for daily operations. Liaising with Information Technology Department (ITD) by complying to company IT polices
  • Effectively capture and reduce the lead time and effort to deliver AMOS business improvement initiatives.
  • Support the department to identify, prioritize and address the incoming business requests related to AMOS.
  • Build a strong relationship between AMOS Competence Center and the Swiss-AS Support Team by instilling clear communication and follow-up mechanisms.
  • Benchmark the department current AMOS processes against Swiss-AS best-practice recommendations to receive personalized improvement recommendations.
  • Strengthen internal AMOS skill set and adoption to meet the needs of the digitalization of the industry.
  • Implement processes to be constantly aware of the upcoming new AMOS features and to enable a faster roll-out to AMOS end users. Coordinates and informs AMOS users regarding new features in AMOS releases.
  • Recognize challenges faced by end-users in navigating AMOS, leading to workarounds and deviations from intended business workflows. Implement an environment of ongoing enhancement and organized change management to address these issues effectively.
  • Provide support for all AMOS related issues encountered within Engineering including function usages in AMOS, business processes, etc. Report to Swiss-AS when needed.
  • Create ad-hoc AMOS reports for internal usage that can be used for data corrections and monitoring.
  • Review productivity gains within the different Engineering sections via and optimized deployment of AMOS with leaner processes.
  • Coordinates the department requirements for internal projects which may result in an AMOS Change Request. This is done by performing internal workshops to collect needs prior to submitting requirements to Swiss-AS.
  • Take on projects or tasks assigned by Engineering management that pertain to aircraft technology systems or applications adoption.
  • Ensure day-to-day business continuity in all matters related to IT Systems used by the department. Maintaining a high availability and ensuring contingency and backup plans are in place when required.
  • Enhance the day-to-day functioning of the department through recognizing operational necessities and leveraging existing systems and tools, such as automation and data-driven analysis, to offer detailed reports that facilitate efficient planning and informed decision-making.
  • Oversee the coordination of integration projects for systems and applications within the Engineering department, collaborating closely with the IT department to enhance the uptake of digital solutions.
  • Facilitate the daily utilization of the Boeing e-Enabling system, ensuring optimal availability and utilizing accessible tools. Collaborate with Boeing to enhance the efficiency of operations within the department.
  • Conduct training sessions to familiarize the department with accessible IT tools and aircraft systems, enhancing their efficiency and IT proficiency.

Job Summary

  • To build a strong AMOS Competence Centre (ACC) in the department that integrates between Engineering business operations and the IT (Information & Technology) aspects in the most efficient and cost-conscious approach for the company as assigned by Senior Vice President Engineering/Chief Engineer.
  • To implement and/or strengthen AMOS Competence Centre as a key success factor for achieving long-term successful AMOS adoption in Engineering. Analyzing needs/requirements and defining Engineering management the structure in terms of section roles and internal procedures.
  • To maintain the compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) administered by Engineering managements of AMOS usage as per respective sections in the department.
  • To drive the continuous optimization of AMOS to ensure the most added value is delivered in a cost-effective manner providing a level of support that fits the department and fully captures the benefit of the latest AMOS developments. Assume a leadership role in AMOS adoption campaign.
  • To be the focal and expert in Boeing and Airbus related systems currently available in RB, manage all systems capabilities holistically to meet requirements, further improvements of Engineering daily operations.
  • To drive business growth and optimize aircraft maintenance operations by leveraging the latest technology. Focusing on seamless digitalization and data-driven approaches, ensuring Engineering and Maintenance operations are at the forefront of innovation, efficiency, and excellence in the aviation industry.

Education & Experience

Degree in in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related field and/or;

At least three (3) years work experience in the IT industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar support or operational role.

Training

Server, Application, IT and OS Administration Certifications beneficial
