Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) FAQ

1. Where can I get information on the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL)?

2. Are children under the age of 12 eligible to travel on a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

Effective 19 October 2021, unvaccinated children aged 12 and below (in the calendar year) will be eligible to enter Singapore on Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights. They must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) traveller and comply with all other conditions. Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) application is not required for children aged 12 and below.

3. Can I use my Royal Skies Miles to redeem a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

Yes, you may redeem your Royal Skies Miles for a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight.

4. How far in advance should I get vaccinated before travelling on a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

To be eligible for a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight, you need to be fully vaccinated with the second dose received at least 14 days before your date of departure.

5. Are all vaccines eligible for Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights?

To be eligible to board a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight, you need to be fully vaccinated with approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna or WHO EUL Vaccines) and depart at least 14 days after receiving your second dose.

6. How many COVID-19 PCR tests are required for the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

7. How much do the COVID-19 PCR test costs?

The on-arrival test will cost SGD160 (before GST) and each post-arrival test will cost SGD88 (before GST).

Pre-payment for an on-arrival test is required for all Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) passengers and is done via the Safe Travel Concierge.

For Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) passengers who are short-term visitors or long-term pass holders, pre-payment for post-arrival tests is part of the application for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP).

8. What documentation do I need to board a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

Upon check-in at Brunei International Airport to board a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight, please present:

  • Passport
  • Exit approval from Brunei’s Prime Ministers’ Office (PMO) that can be applied through the Travel Portal
  • Proof of Vaccination through the BruHealth app on their mobile devices. Brunei-issued vaccination booklet (yellow booklet) is not accepted as a proof of vaccination.
  • Negative COVID-19 PCR test report (must be done within 48 hours before departure)
  • A valid Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) – All short-term visitors or holders of Long-Term Passes travelling to Singapore will require a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP). You may apply for a pass here.
  • Trace Together app (downloaded and registered)

9. Should I apply for my visa before I apply for the Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP)?

If you require a visa to travel to Singapore, please apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) before you apply for your visa.

10. If I tested positive for my pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test, am I eligible for a refund?

You may request for refund using our Refund Request Form. If you have purchased your ticket through a travel agent, kindly contact your agent to process the refund. Fees may apply.

11. Are masks mandatory on a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

Guests are encouraged to wear masks onboard the flight which may be removed when eating and drinking.

12. What happens if I test positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Singapore or before my return flight?

If you test positive for COVID-19, you will be sent to a government hospital for treatment.

Please note that from 31 January 2021, all short-term visitors travelling to Singapore must purchase travel insurance with a minimum coverage of SGD$30,000 for COVID-19 related medical treatments and hospitalisation costs, prior to their travel to Singapore.

13. Can transit passengers travel via Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights?

Effective 19 October 2021, travellers departing from Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) countries/regions may transit via any of the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) countries/regions only, subject to the transit country/region’s Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) being in effect. Transit via non-Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) countries/regions are not permitted.

14. Are all flights to Singapore via Royal Brunei Airlines a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

Yes, effective 8 September 2021, all RB flights to Singapore are Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights.

15. I hold a SafeTravel Pass under the Reciprocal Green Lane (SafeTravel Pass-RGL). Can I travel on the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight?

No, only travellers with a valid Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) can travel on Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights.
