Royal Brunei Airlines and Japan Airlines Recommence Strategic Codeshare Partnership

ROYAL BRUNEI AIRLINES AND JAPAN AIRLINES RECOMMENCE STRATEGIC CODESHARE PARTNERSHIP
Bandar Seri Begawan / Tokyo – Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Japan Airlines (JAL) are pleased to announce the launch of a new codeshare partnership, enhancing connectivity and travel options between Japan, Brunei Darussalam, and beyond effective 1 October 2025.
The agreement enables both airlines to place their respective flight codes on selected routes operated by the respective airlines, offering passengers greater flexibility and seamless travel experiences. Under the initial phase of the codeshare, JAL will place its ‘JL’ code on RB-operated flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and Tokyo (Narita), while RB will place its ‘BI’ code on selected JAL-operated domestic flights in Japan, including key cities such as Osaka and Nagoya.
This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for both carriers in restrengthening bilateral ties and supporting tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between Japan and Brunei. The enhanced network will also improve connectivity across Southeast Asia, Australia, and Japan for international travellers.
