Travel Advisory – Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)

Hong Kong Airport Authority (HKAA) has advised on their website for all travelling passenger to allow sufficient time to travel to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for any of their upcoming flights.

On 15 August 2019, HKAA has implemented “Access Control” at the terminal buildings of HKIA from now until further notice.

Access to the airport’s terminal buildings are only restricted to:

  • Passengers with a valid air ticket or boarding pass for a flight in the next 24 hours and a valid travel document will be allowed to enter the terminal buildings.
  • Airport Staff with relevant identification document.

Passengers are reminded to arrive at the airport three hours before their departure time for the relevant checks. Other members of the public, including those who may want to accompany departure passengers or receiving arrival passengers at the airport should not travel to the airport unless absolutely necessary.

The Hong Kong airport authority advises passengers to pay attention to the latest announcement by airlines, and also check with HKIA’s website or “HKG My Flight” mobile app for latest flight information and travel advisory.
