Additional Security Screening for Flights Inbound to the UK

24 March 2017, 9:36 AM

  • Additional security screening for larger electronic devices will be implemented prior to boarding flight BI097 in Dubai.
  • Passengers are advised to ensure that their electronic devices are able to power on during security screening.

Effective 25th March 2017, as per The UK Department of Transport requirement, additional security screening will be implemented for flights inbound to the UK, this includes Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) flight BI097 departing from Dubai to London.
Under the requirement, all electronic devices larger than a standard pocket size, such as laptops, tablets and smart phones (larger than 16cm by 9.3cm and 1.5cm deep) will go through additional security screening at the boarding gate at Dubai International Airport.

During the additional screening, passengers will be required to turn on their electronic devices. RB advises passengers to ensure that these electronic devices have sufficient power for this screening. We encourage you to have your devices fully charged. In the event you don’t, please use the charging facilities available on RB B787 aircraft (USB ports located at the Inflight Entertainment screens and power outlet located under the seats) prior to landing in Dubai.

RB also encourages passengers to ensure their device chargers or power cords are always carried in their cabin baggage.
