Royal Brunei Airlines and China Eastern Airlines signs Code Share Agreement

Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has signed a code share agreement with China Eastern Airlines (MU) which will allows for passengers to connect from Bandar Seri Begawan to Shanghai (and vice versa).
The agreement was signed by Mr. Aji Puteh, Head of Corporate Services of Royal Brunei Airlines; and Mr. Zeng Yongchao, Executive Deputy Managing Director, Marketing and Sales Committee of China Eastern Airlines.
Under the codeshare agreement, China Eastern Airlines will add its ‘MU’ code to RB operated flights from Bandar Seri Begawan to Shanghai and vice versa. The date for commencement of the codeshare is 1 July 2016. It is envisaged that both airlines will continue to work towards expanding this partnership to other parts of China.
Mr Karam Chand, Chief Executive Officer of RB said “RB would like to warmly welcome China Eastern Airlines on board as codeshare partner. China is a market of over 120 million outbound passenger departures worth in excess of USD 100 billion per year. The partnership with China Eastern will allow RB to benefit from the huge network and marketing power of one the largest airlines in the world”.
Executive Deputy Managing Director of MU Marketing and Sales Committee, Mr Zeng stated that “It can be expected there will be more and more passengers travel between China and Brunei after implementing the codeshare cooperation. Welcome more Brunei tourists to Shanghai.”
