RB Carries Out A Series Of Ramadhan Community Initiatives Across Brunei.

Bandar Seri Begawan, 17 March 2026 – Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) embarked on a series of meaningful community outreach activities throughout Ramadhan 1447H / 2026M, reaffirming the national carrier’s commitment to social responsibility and uplifting the lives of those in need.

The annual Ramadhan programme, organised by RB’s Welfare and Religious Committees with support from employees and community partners, spanned several districts and involved charitable contributions and collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening community bonds.

RB’s Ramadhan activities began on 27 February 2026 with a social charity drive supporting families in need across the Belait District. Essential food supplies and necessities were delivered directly to six identified households, ensuring they could prepare for the holy month with greater ease.
On 5 March 2026, RB held a Majlis Tahlil at the Royal Mausoleum to honour and remember AlMarhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and members of the Royal Family. Present as the Guest of Honour was RB Chairman, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, alongside RB Deputy Chairman, Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

In collaboration with Social Kitchen Community (SCOT), RB Cabin Crew volunteers and the RB Elevate WARM Team carried out a CSR food production and distribution initiative on 5 and 6 March 2026, preparing and delivering hot meals for iftar to underprivileged individuals in the Brunei-Muara District. The outreach aimed to address food insecurity and ensure vulnerable communities received nourishment during the fasting month.

RB continued its tradition of supporting partners and frontline teams by distributing iftar packs to RB staff and stakeholders at the Brunei International Airport on 6 March 2026. The initiative recognised the dedication of airport personnel who support daily airport operations throughout Ramadhan.

The RB Religious Committee hosted its annual Majlis Khatam Al-Quran and distribution of Wakaf on 11 March 2026 at Masjid Zainab, Lumut, where staff gathered to conclude their Ramadhan Quran recitation together. Present as the Guest of Honour was RB Chairman, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, alongside RB Deputy Chairman, Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office. Also present were YM Awang Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, Acting District Officer for Belait District; YM Puan Kolonel Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini, RB Interim Chief Executive Officer; and Yang Mulia Mohd Didi Normaday bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Mosque Affairs Officer for the Belait District.

The concluding highlight of RB’s Ramadhan programme was the Majlis Menyampaikan Derma Anak Yatim RB, held on 13 March 2026 at Tarindak D’Polo. Organised in collaboration with Sabre Travel Network Brunei, the ceremony saw donations presented to 43 orphans, aged 7 to 21, who are still in school. Present as the Guest of Honour was RB Interim Chief Executive Officer, YM Puan Colonel Norsuriati Haji Sharbini.

The event included the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Mohd Alidden Mahmud, welcoming remarks by YM Puan Colonel Norsuriati, and a tazkirah titled “Ramadhan Bulan Sedekah” delivered by YM Ustaz Haji Abdus Salam bin Haji Ali, followed by doa arwah and tahlil before
concluding with sungkai.

YM Puan Colonel Norsuriati, RB Interim Chief Executive Officer, shared, “Ramadhan is a time to reflect, give, and strengthen our bonds with the community. Through these initiatives, RB hopes to bring comfort and support to those in need while fostering compassion across our organisation.”

RB extends its appreciation to all partners, volunteers, media representatives, and employees who contributed to the success of this year’s Ramadhan initiatives. These programmes form part of RB’s continued commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and promoting the values of care and unity in Brunei Darussalam.
