Royal Brunei Airlines and Turkish Airlines Expand Codeshare Partnership via Kuala Lumpur – Istanbul Connectivity
Bandar Seri Begawan – Royal Brunei Airlines (RB), the national carrier of Brunei Darussalam, is pleased to announce the expansion of its long-standing codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines, introducing a new codeshare route between Bandar Seri Begawan and Istanbul via Kuala Lumpur, effective 7 August 2026.
The enhanced partnership builds upon the airlines’ existing codeshare arrangement via Dubai, providing guests with an additional gateway to Türkiye and beyond. Under the expanded agreement, Royal Brunei Airlines will operate flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Lumpur, while Turkish Airlines will operate the Kuala Lumpur–Istanbul sector. Both airlines will market the combined journey under their respective flight codes, offering customers a seamless travel experience with greater flexibility and convenience.
The expanded network further strengthens connectivity between Brunei Darussalam and one of the world’s most strategically located aviation hubs, giving travelers easier access to Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East and other destinations across Turkish Airlines’ extensive global network. At the same time, the partnership creates greater opportunities for international visitors to discover Brunei Darussalam for our Bruneian hospitality with lush forest, beautiful beaches, rich natural resources and cultural attractions just intime for the upcoming Visit Brunei 2027.
The collaboration reflects both airlines’ shared commitment to enhancing customer choice through strategic partnerships while supporting tourism, business travel, and economic connectivity between their respective markets.
Joshua Law, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Brunei Airlines, said: “This expanded codeshare gives our guests more options to travel between Brunei and Istanbul via Kuala Lumpur providing an additional gateway alongside our existing connection through Dubai. Beyond offering greater choice and flexibility, it brings Brunei closer to Türkiye, Europe and beyond, while making it easier for international travellers to discover Brunei and the wider Borneo region. This is how strong airline partnerships create meaningful connectivity—linking destinations, supporting tourism and trade, and opening new possibilities for our customers.”
Turkish Airlines SVP Sales (Region II) Mahmut Yayla said: “Brunei is a destination of great natural beauty and cultural richness, and we are pleased to bring it closer to our guests through this expanded cooperation with Royal Brunei Airlines. With this agreement, our guests will have even more ways to explore this remarkable part of the world along with the opportunity to experience our trademark Turkish hospitality above the clouds.”
The new codeshare services are available for booking from today through Royal Brunei Airlines’ and Turkish Airlines’ respective sales channels, subject to operational readiness and system availability.
This latest enhancement reinforces Royal Brunei Airlines’ commitment to expanding its global reach through strategic partnerships, delivering seamless travel experiences while strengthening Brunei Darussalam’s connectivity with key international markets.
