Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) the national carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei, celebrates 40 years of flying this year. To mark the occasion, in partnership with new General Sales Agent (GSA) – Cozmo Travel, RB has launched its newly refurbished and rebranded office in Dubai at Centurian Star. Present to launch the office as Guest of Honour was His Excellency Mohd Yusra Hj Mohd Salleh, Brunei’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. Also present were Mr Mohammed Ahli, Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation, as well as Mr Saood Kankazar, Director of Air Transport of Dubai Civil Aviation, travel agents, business partners and media.

At the same event, RB also formally introduced Cozmo Travel as new GSA for the whole of United Arab Emirates. The new GSA agreement was signed by Mr. Jamal Abdulnazar, representing Cozmo Travel and Mr. Karam Chand, Chief Commercial and Planning Officer of RB. Under the new agreement, Cozmo will operate  an exclusive RB retail outlet in Dubai, together with sale points across each of the other  emirates.

Mr. Abdulnazar, described the signing as indeed a landmark occasion for Cozmo Travel. ‘This new GSA relationship with RB builds on our already strong GSA agreement with Air Arabia,” he pointed out. “RB provides scheduled services across Asia, the Middle East, Australia and London. In addition, the airline has codeshare agreements allowing passengers to co-ordinate flights for seamless travel to a very wide choice of destinations. Cozmo feels there is  potential to significantly grow RB traffic in Middle East  and our team is determined to achieve just that result,” he added.

Commenting on the deal,  Mr. Karam Chand said:  ‘Cozmo Travel is already one of the leading names in the travel industry in the Middle East region and is ideally positioned to provide the necessary drive to RB to help us to boost sales. We will work closely with Cozmo’s team of experienced professionals to make RB the preferred choice to the destinations we offer from Dubai International Airport,” he observed.

At the launch event, RB also showcased new heritage inspired uniform proudly which will be proudly worn by all RB’s customer service staff. The warm spectrum of uniform colours ranging from olive to morning sky and fresh mint, together with the new vibrant office layout is all designed to reflect the friendly and welcoming nature of the RB brand.

This is the latest phase of the rebranding process of RB which began with the entry into service in 2013 of new long aircraft in December 2013. RB is the first airline in the world to provide a seemless Boeing 787 Dreamliner service all the way from London Heathrow via Dubai to Melbourne. For regional shorthaul operations, RB is also a customer for next generation A320 NEO aircraft. Currently, RB serves a total of nine short haul routes across Asia. This includes Ho Chi Minh City, Denpasar, Manila and Kota  Kinabalu; all of which are very popular destinations from Dubai, with easy connections via the recently refurbished Brunei International Airport.

RB first flew to Dubai International Airport in August 1988, and is a long established player in this market with over 26 years of distinguished  service to customers in UAE.
