IATA Resolution 830D – Providing Contact Details during booking through agencies

18 June 2019, 10:41 AM

Starting 1 June 2019, International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced all travel agencies must actively ask guests when booking air tickets whether they wish to have their contact details (mobile number and/or email) provided to airlines for the purposes of contacting them in cases of operational disruption.

In accordance with the new rule under IATA Resolution 830D, airlines shall use these contact details exclusively for the purpose of operational notifications such as flight cancellation, schedule change, disruption, etc. and shall not use available contact details for sales & marketing purposes.

Please note, travel agents will advise guests that they may not receive information from the airline relating to flight operational notifications in the event guest exercises his or her right not to provide contact details.

For more information, please read the IATA Resolution 830D. Alternatively guests may contact your nearest Royal Brunei Airlines office.
