Overview

Experience the heart of Islamic culture in Brunei in this 3-day tour. From the Sultan’s Palace to the Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, and from the Royal Regalic Centre to Kampong Ayer, you will be whisked away for an unforgettable experience of the Islamic Sultanate.

  • Accommodation included.
  • Dress appropriately, wearing non-revealing clothing and/or shorts that are below the knees.
  • Bring sunscreen lotion, a hat and/or wear long sleeves for the boat ride.
  • Mosques are closed for inside visit on Thursday, Friday, some religious public holidays and at certain times nearer to the prayer time. In the case of the inside visit is not available, it will be photo stop outside only.

Note

The itinerary is only a reference. Tour guides reserves the right to change itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions. For Mosque visits, visitors are requested to dress appropriately, wearing non-revealing clothing and/or shorts that are below the knees. There will be robes given upon entering the mosque. You will also be required to remove your shoes. For Royal Regalia Museum, it is recommended for visitors to wear socks as shoes will need to be removed.

Itinerary

Arrival at Brunei International Airport and transfer to hotel

In the evening, pick up from the hotel’s lobby to proceed with the night tour with dinner at own expense. Visit to Gadong Night Market where you can experience the “local” food scene and taste all the local food or snacks.  Transfer to mosque to perform Maghrib prayer.

In the morning, pick up from the hotel’s lobby for day tour with lunch served at a local restaurant. There is a short photo stop of the magnificent Istana Nurul Iman, the largest residential palace in the world from Damuan Park. Visit the Malay Technology Museum which has galleries on the Malays, ethnic tribes and their lifestyles. Have a photo stop at the tomb of Sultan Bolkiah who was the fifth ruler of Islamic Brunei and his reign is known as the nation’s golden age.

Proceed to a jetty for a boat ride at the Water Village to visit one of the local houses where they will be served with light local refreshment. Shopping at The Mall, Gadong. Lunch served at a local restaurant. Dzuhur prayer at Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. This is one of the most magnificent mosques in Asia with 29 golden domes.

Itinerary

In the morning, pick up from the hotel’s lobby for day tour with lunch served at a local restaurant. Visit to open market, a place where locals buy their daily products, some ‘ready to eat’ food, handicrafts, local herbs and medicinal plants. Visit to Royal Regalia Museum which is home to a collection of royal regalia, royal chariot, gold and silver ceremonial armoury. Visit to Brunei Arts and Handicraft Centre where local arts & handicrafts such as weaving, silverware, krises, basketry, songkok, and others are being displayed and for sales. Visit to Jabatan Mufti Exhibition Hall where you can see the collection of more than 300 hand written Al Quran (the holy book of Islam) where some of them already more than 100 years old. Walking stick and the prayer beads can also be seen in this gallery.  Lunch served at a local restaurant. Pass by the Legislative Council Building, Ministry of Finance.

Free at leisure until transfer to airport for return flight.
