Submitting an offer

​How do I make an offer for RB Upgrades?

If you are eligible, RB Upgrades will send you an invitation email.

Alternatively, you can check your eligibility at RB Upgrades and follow the steps below:

  1. Check Eligibility: Enter your booking reference number (PNR) and last name
  2. Make an offer: Upgrade to Business Class by submitting an offer at your own price
  3. Review: Check all information is correct
  4. Enter your nominated debit/credit card details. Your nominated debit/credit card will only be charged if your offer is successful.
  5. Submit your offer. You will be notified as early as 96 hours before your flight departure.

 

You will then receive a confirmation email of your RB Upgrades offer. Kindly keep this email in case you wish to change or modify your offer. You will not be charged unless your offer is successful.

 

What is the cost of an offer?

It is free of charge to submit an offer. You are in control of how much you would like to offer and will not be charged unless your offer is successful.

 

Is there a minimum amount I have to offer for an RB Upgrade?

Each sector has a minimum and maximum offer value.

 

How many days do I have to submit an offer?

The offer window closes 24 hours before your flight departure. You will be able to submit or modify your offer before this time.

 

If I did not receive an invitation email, can I still submit an offer?

You will be able to check your eligibility at RB Upgrades. If you are eligible, you may proceed to make an offer 24 hours before your flight departure.

 

If there is more than one passenger on my booking, will the offer be for all passengers?

Yes, the offer will be for all passengers per booking. If only one (1) passenger on your booking would like to make an offer, please contact RB Call Centre to split the booking.

 

Are there any additional taxes to pay if offer is accepted?

Any additional taxes payable will be displayed separately and the total amount will include additional taxes.

 

What payment methods are accepted for RB Upgrades?

Payment methods accepted are credit and debit card which include Visa, MasterCard and AMEX.

 

When will my nominated debit/credit card be charged?

Your nominated debit/credit card will only be charged after your offer is made successful. It will not be charged if your offer is unsuccessful.

 

I have purchased my ticket before RB launched RB Upgrades, am I eligible to make an offer?

You can check your eligibility at RB Upgrades. If you are eligible, you may proceed to make an offer before the offer window closes 24 hours before your flight departure.

Changing / Cancelling an offer

How do I cancel/change my offer?

To cancel/change your offer, please go to the confirmation/acknowledgement email and click the modify/cancel link on the sector you wish to cancel.

You will not be able to cancel/change your offer if:

  • You have received a congratulatory email stating that you have been upgraded to Business Class; and
  • The offer window of 24 hours before scheduled departure has closed.

 

Can I change the amount I submitted in my offer?

Yes, you can change the amount by clicking on the change/modify button in your confirmation/acknowledgement email if

  • You have not received a congratulatory email stating that you have been upgraded to Business Class; and
  • The offer window of 24 hours before scheduled departure has not closed

 

I need to change my flight but I have had a successful offer, can I transfer my offer to my new flight?

No, RB Upgrades are non-transferable. Please take note that after a successful offer, your nominated credit/debit card has already been charged.

 

I have changed my flight, how do I submit offers for my new flight?

You must cancel your initial offer and submit a new offer for the changed flight. Please ensure that you cancel the initial offer 96 hours before your flight departure. Note that your nominated debit/credit card will be charged if your offer is successful.

 

I cancelled my initial offer and now want to make a new offer, is this possible?

Yes, as long as the offer window of 24 hours before flight departure is not yet closed.

Selection / Rejection of offer

​Will I receive Royal Skies miles if my offer is successful?

You will only receive Royal Skies miles based on the original Economy Class seat purchased.

 

Will I be notified if my offer is successful?

Yes, you will receive an email notification as early as 96 hours before your flight departure.

 

Will I be notified if my offer is unsuccessful?

Yes, you will receive an email notification 18 hours before your flight departure.

 

My offer was successful but my flight was cancelled, will I receive a refund for my upgrade?

Royal Brunei Airlines will re-accommodate your upgrade to the next eligible flight. If you are not re-accommodated, you will be fully refunded excluding bank charges.

Requests for refunds can be sent to [email protected], attached with a scanned copy of the following:

  • Boarding pass of flight offered
  • Confirmation/acknowledgement email
Refund

 

​I need to change/cancel my flight, but I have had a successful offer, can I be refunded?

Your offer amount will be forfeited. Please note that once an offer is successful, your nominated credit/debit card will already be charged.

 

I have purchased Preferred Seat on my original booking and have made an offer for RB Upgrades, will I be refunded for my Preferred Seat if my RB Upgrades offer is successful?

No, the amount paid for Preferred Seat will be forfeited.

 

My offer was successful but my flight was cancelled, how do I request for a refund?

Requests for refunds can be sent to [email protected], attached with a scanned copy of the following:

  • Boarding pass of flight offered
  • Confirmation/acknowledgement email

 

How is my upgrade refunded?

The offer amount will be refunded into your nominated credit/debit card in the currency it was charged. This does not include bank charges.

Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions

The following definitions shall apply to this Terms and Conditions:-

Eligible Passenger” refers to the recipient or passenger/s who have made a booking/s and are eligible to make an offer for RB Upgrades;

Invitation” refers to an invitation that RB extends to the Eligible Passenger to make an Offer;

Offer” refers to the amount submitted by the Eligible Passenger for RB Upgrades;

Nominated Credit or Debit Card” refers to the credit/ debit card used by the Eligible Passenger to make payment;

Sector” refers to the portion of a journey between two consecutive points in an itinerary;

Upgrade” refers to an opportunity to upgrade from the cabin class that was originally purchased for travel with RB to one cabin class higher.

2. Eligibility

Eligible Passenger

Royal Brunei Airlines (hereinafter referred to as “RB”) reserves the right in its absolute discretion and without prior notice to determine, change and not disclose the factors, conditions and rules relating to the eligibility for an RB Upgrades offer, which may vary from time to time. The following shall NOT be eligible for RB Upgrades offer:

  1. Booking with infant;
  2. Upgrade Offers submitted by person(s) below the legal age of majority in their country of residence at the time the Upgrade Offer is submitted;
  3. group bookings.

Eligible Flights

Offers are only eligible on flights operated by RB with tickets under the “BI” prefix at the absolute discretion of RB. RB Upgrades is only available on flights, dates and destinations selected by Royal Brunei in its sole and absolute discretion.

  1. No Royal Skies miles will be accrued for the Offer in the event Passenger’s Offer has been accepted by RB.
  2. Only one (1) Offer may be submitted per flight sector in a booking. An Offer may subsequently be cancelled or modified in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
3. Making an RB Upgrades Offer

Invitation to offer and Making offer

  1. RB may, in its absolute and sole discretion send an Invitation to Eligible Passenger to make an RB Upgrades Offer.
  2. RB reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to decide whether or not an Offer is successful, and makes no representation that any Passenger will receive an Upgrade, regardless of whether or not seats are available in the cabin class for which an Offer is made.
  3. Eligible Passengers are only permitted to submit an Offer from the date on which RB Upgrades Offer begins accepting the submission of Offers until 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure date of the flight segment to which an Offer relates.

Payment

Payment will be charged into Passenger’s Nominated Credit or Debit card upon the following:

  1. Passenger receives an Upgrade Offer acceptance email; and
  2. A updated e-ticket with upgraded class is issued to each passenger included in Passenger’s original flight booking.
  3. If for whatever reason the Upgrade cannot be completed successfully, no payment will be charged.

Acceptance of offer

  1. Receiving an Invitation and/or making an RB Upgrades Offer does not in any way guarantee that the RB Upgrades Offer will be accepted.
  2. Royal Brunei Airlines makes no representation that any RB Upgrades Offer will be accepted, irrespective of the amount of the RB Upgrades Offer and/ or seat availability.
  3. Royal Brunei Airlines may accept an Offer at any time during the period it remains a valid Offer. In the event RB selects an Offer as being successful:
    1. the Passenger will be notified via email and charged the full amount of the Offer; and
    2. The Passenger will be sent a new itinerary reflecting the Upgrade. The total amount charged includes all applicable pre-payable taxes and fees (if any) for the Upgrade. The total amount to be paid will be disclosed to the Passenger prior to submission of the Offer.
  4. If the Offer is accepted, the fare conditions applicable to the original ticket will apply to the upgraded ticket.

Cancellation / Changes of Offer

  1. Passenger may modify or cancel the Upgrade Offer through the hyperlink on the offer acknowledgement email up to 24 hours of Passenger’s scheduled departure time, provided that the Upgrade Offer has not been already accepted by Royal Brunei Airlines and Passenger’s credit card has not been charged.
  2. However, if Offer is accepted before Passenger cancellation, Passenger is legally bound to complete payment for the price stated in Passenger’s final Offer.
4. Refund
  1. Passenger is entitled to a refund the event the flight, for which Passenger’s Upgrade Offer was accepted and upgraded, was cancelled by RB.
  2. Should any refunds be approved, the amount paid for the Upgrade will be refunded to the Nominated Credit or Debit Card that was used to pay for the Upgrade and it will be processed in the currency in which the Upgrade price was charged.
  3. Upon reimbursement by RB, RB shall have no further liability to Passenger.
  4. Passenger hereby agrees that to claim a refund, Passenger will submit a written request by sending an email to : [email protected] with a scanned copy of the following documents:
    1. Boarding Pass for the flight in question;
    2. Confirmation/acknowledgement email notifying that the Upgrade is successful; and
    3. Any other relevant document  
5. Amendment
  1. RB reserves the right to change, alter, amend or cancel any or all of these Terms and Conditions from time to time, without any prior notice. These RB Upgrades Terms and Conditions which apply to an Offer and Upgrade are those applying at the date an Offer is submitted.
  2. These Terms and Conditions shall be read in conjunction with RB's General Conditions of Carriage, the fare conditions, Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which are hereby incorporated into and form part of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. In the event of any inconsistency, ambiguity or conflict between the terms and provisions hereof, the General Conditions of Carriage and the fare conditions, these RB Upgrades Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
6. Waiver
  1. The failure by RB to exercise its rights will not be construed as a waiver or relinquishment of the future performance of any of its rights, and Passenger’s obligations with respect to such future performance shall continue in full force and effect.
  2. By making an Offer, Passenger expressly acknowledges that Passenger has read and understood the above Terms and Conditions and hereby agrees to the same.
