FLIGHT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

Royal Brunei (RB), the national carrier of Brunei Darussalam, is inviting applications for the position of A320 Captain. Rated and Non Rated Captains who meet the minimum qualifications are invited to apply.

A320 Captain’s Position - Requirements and Salary Package

Minimum Qualifications

Captain - Rated on A320

  • 5,000 hours total on all aircraft types (Fixed Wing Types Only Considered)
  • 500 hours PIC on Airbus A320 Family
  • Current as PIC on Airbus A320 family
  • License Proficiency Check as PIC on Airbus A320 family to be valid on start of employment with RB
  • EASA GBR, NZ & Australian ATPL (Malaysian Licence - subject to regulatory approval)
  • English Proficiency Level 6
  • Current Class 1 Medical
  • Maximum Age 61 Years on start of employment with RB

Captain - NON Rated on A320

  • 5,000 hours total on all aircraft types (Fixed Wing Types Only Considered)
  • 500 hours PIC on Multi Crew Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet
  • Current as PIC on Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet
  • License Proficiency Check as PIC on a Glass Cockpit Commercial Jet to be valid on start of employment with RB
  • EASA GBR ATPL (Malaysian Licence – subject to regulatory approval)
  • English Proficiency Level 6
  • Current Class 1 Medical
  • Maximum Age 59 Years on start of employment with RB

Salary Package – Cash and Non-Cash Elements*

  • Salary* - A starting annual average salary of up to approximately BND 165,000 (approx. USD 122,222).
  • Accommodation – BND 26,400 (approx. USD 19,555)
  • Education* – Education allowance of up to BND 14,400 (approx. USD 10,666) available per child, for up to three children in Overseas or Local.
  • Leave* – 57 calendar days of Leave entitlement per year.
  • Rosters – The roster program is based very closely to UK CAA CAP 371.
  • Medical – Medical Leave Entitlement of 14 days per calendar year. There is also Outpatient and Hospitalisation reimbursement available for spouse and children.
  • Insurance – RB provides for Loss of License Insurance, Group Personal Accident, & Travel, Group Hospital & Surgery and Workmen’s Compensation Insurance. Preferential rates for additional coverage of spouse and children are also available.
  • Privilege Travel* – Staff travel benefits available.
  • Car Loan* – Interest free Car Loan available.
  • Club Membership benefits.
  • Airport Parking.
  • Bonding – Only NON-Rated Captains can expect to be bonded for 3 years.

Head of Digital Channel

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCIAL

Reporting to: Chief Commercial & Planning Officer

Brief job descriptions:

  • Responsible  for all marketing activities and sales of RB products through the digital channel, which includes web, mobile, social and business partners’ digital platforms
  • Develops digital sales and marketing strategy and oversees the formulation and execution of the digital sales and marketing plan in close coordination with the stations
  • Meets online revenue targets by monitoring, performing market, risk and pricing reviews, and takes necessary actions to optimize revenue returns such as promotion events and product changes to stimulate demand
  • Develops and implements strategies to increase RB brand visibility in all markets to gain market share, reach new customers and retain existing customers
  • In close consultation with Commercial Heads develops and implements strategies to effect channel shift, reduce distribution and marketing costs and meet revenue targets
  • Ensures the systems related to digital product distribution, sales, payments, fraud mitigation , customer experience  are enhanced over time and kept relevant to meet RB objectives
  • Ensures the continuous improvement of RB website for content, customer ease of use, search engine optimization and search engine marketing
  • Develops and implements strategies and system enhancements to increase ancillary revenues
  • Leads the development of RB CRM
  • Oversees the development of management reports for the digital channel
  • Ensures good customer experience and satisfaction through the direct Digital Channel
  • Manages the risk associated with digital sales by ensuring appropriate tools and systems are used to mitigate fraud and other risks
  • Develops and implements strategies to strengthen revenue from  online travel agents whilst keeping RB digital channels as the primary online channel
  • Develops OTA strategy by Country in close consultation with Country Managers and Heads
  • Develops, distributes and manages the sales of holiday product to enhance the sales of RB air travel products
  • Increases interline and codeshare revenues through digital platform
  • Ensures that regulatory requirements of distributing, marketing and selling of airline and ancillary products are met in each Country
  • Manages the supplier relationships at highest levels to ensure best support and commercial outcomes for RB
  • Oversees and manages projects for the Section and ensures the implementation is on budget and time and delivers the benefits identified
  • Manages Staff performance, development and retention
  • Manages risks and ensures strategies are in place to keep the online shop open 24/7

Competence required

Key skills (competencies) required:

  • In depth knowledge of the travel industry backed with a travel related qualification, preferably a degree in the relevant field such as marketing or business studies
  • Proven senior level digital marketing experience across all digital disciplines, including campaign strategy, online planning & buying across all digital channels including mobile, pay per click and social media
  • Knowledge of emerging markets and trends within the wider digital industry, including changing consumer behaviours
  • Good understanding of relevant online platforms as a tool to conduct sales activities including social media, search engine, booking engines, payment and fraud management systems

Key qualities (attributes) required:

  • The ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines in a busy and evolving environment, whilst delivering a highly professional digital experience  
  • Excellent project management, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
  • Good problem solving skills to overcome challenges in introducing new products and systems
  • Leadership and management skill to motivate and maintain good team performance
