Which company offers the Travel Insurance?

Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, Australian Financial Service (AFS) Licence No. 239687) (Chubb) is the insurer and issuer of this product.

In which way is insurance provided?

Travel Insurance can be purchased via the Royal Brunei Airlines website www.flyroyalbrunei.com for itineraries originating from Australia. An Insurance confirmation email will be sent to you by email immediately after completing payment.

What benefits are provided to me when I buy the Travel Insurance?

The Travel Insurance provides cover for Trip Cancellation and Amendment Cover, Overseas Medical Emergency Expenses Cover, Trip Delay Cover, Personal Baggage, Valuables, Money and Travel Documents Cover and limited COVID 19 Cover.

Can I buy the Travel Insurance if I am not departing from Australia?

No. Travel Insurance is available to travellers departing from Australia only.

Is there an age limit for Travel Insurance?

All Covered Persons must be sixty-five (65) years of age or younger on the Issue Date of Your Certificate of Insurance.

Can I buy Travel Insurance if I'm travelling for more than 90 days?

Travel Insurance will not be provided for return trip itineraries exceeding 90 days.

Can I buy Travel Insurance if I'm using Flight Award Redemption ticket?

Unfortunately, travel insurance cannot be purchased using Flight Award Redemption ticket.

My flight has changed, what do I need to do to change my insurance policy?

When is my Travel Insurance policy effective?

Travel Insurance shall commence on the start date indicated on the Certificate of Insurance.

Coverage for the Travel Cancellation benefit is effective upon the issuance of the Certificate of Insurance.

When does my Travel Insurance policy expire?

For Overseas One-Way Trip, insurance will terminate upon You leaving the airport terminal upon arrival at Your destination or upon the expiry of the Period of Insurance, whichever is earlier.

For Overseas Return Trip, insurance will terminate upon your arrival back Home in Australia or upon the expiry of the Period of Insurance, whichever is earlier.

Does Travel Insurance cover extreme sports and similar activities?

There is no coverage for extreme sports, competitive or professional sports.

If I need to cancel my trip due to closure of border, as announced by the overseas government, can I make a claim?

No, cancellation due to changes in regulations or orders by the overseas government and/or authorities is not covered (including where the border closure or travel warning occurs after the Issue Date).

I have purchased insurance on the website but my trip is cancelled. Can I get a refund of the premium?

Please contact Chubb before the departure date of the journey to request cancellation of insurance policy. RBA will refund the premium in full within 14 days from the date of cancellation request.

I have completed only part of the journey, can I get a refund on my insurance premium?

If the journey has commenced, the premium will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What should I do if I get into an accident abroad and need immediate assistance?

For overseas emergency assistance, please call the Chubb Assistance 24-hour hotline on +61 2 8907 5666.

If I receive medical treatment due to an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical expenses, hospital stay and related expenses?

Yes, the policy covers you for the medical expenses incurred overseas and hospital confinement, subject to terms, conditions and exclusions.

Can I make a claim for baggage delay?

Yes, the policy covers for baggage delay, please refer to the Schedule of Benefits within this Policy to confirm the cover and limits for the plan provided.

How do I make a claim?

You can submit a claim online at www.chubbclaims.com.au within 30 days of a claim event or as soon as reasonable practicable.
