What is SmartDelay?

SmartDelay will track the passenger’s flight in real-time and trigger an SMS or email with a voucher to an airport lounge should there be an unexpected delay of more than 90 minutes.

If there are no lounges available in that airport, the passenger will receive a lounge voucher which can be used within 12 months on any of their future trips.

How does it work?

When a passenger’s flight is delayed for more than 90 minutes, they will automatically receive a lounge voucher via text or email from SmartDelay. All the passenger needs to do is to show the voucher at the specified lounge to access the lounge.  

It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they have access to their phone or email in order to receive an SMS or email from SmartDelay. 

What is the benefit of SmartDelay?

Passengers are given lounge access should there be a travel delay of more than 90 minutes.

How much does SmartDelay cost?

USD 1.89 for one-way and USD 3.65 for a return trip (per passenger), or equivalent to its local currency based on the current rate of exchange.

Who can purchase SmartDelay?

SmartDelay is available to all passengers except those whose travel originated from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. 

How do I purchase SmartDelay?

You can purchase SmartDelay when purchasing your ticket through www.flyRB.com and up to 4 hours before departure through Manage my Booking.

If I purchase my ticket through a travel agent, will I be able to purchase SmartDelay?

You can purchase SmartDelay up to 4 hours before departure through Manage my Booking.

I have purchased SmartDelay but I have now changed my mind. Can I cancel and get a refund?

SmartDelay is non-refundable and non-transferable.

My flight has changed, what do I need to do to?

SmartDelay is non-transferable. If there is a change in the travel date, passengers are required to purchase a new one.

For flight change made by RB due to re-accommodation or schedule change, SmartDelay will be changed to the new flight date.

What do I do if I do not receive the SmartDelay confirmation email?

My flight is delayed, how do I access the lounge?

If your flight is delayed for more than 90 minutes, you will automatically receive a lounge voucher via text or email from SmartDelay. This lounge voucher will be used to access the lounge. 

Which lounge will I have access to under SmartDelay?

Name of the lounge will be stated in the lounge voucher.
